Our shop is on Raj Mahal Road in Kherwadi. It’s a typical neighborhood novelty store where you can find almost anything you might need for the house. We’ve got kitchen tools, some plasticware, and a lot of small items for kids' school projects or birthday parties. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to stock as much as possible in a small space. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, so I often have to use a wooden ladder to reach things for customers who can't see them. I’ve been running this place since I was quite young, taking over the daily work from my uncle. We don't have a big marketing plan or any fancy signs. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the locals to come by for their daily bits and pieces. Kherwadi is a busy area, and there's always something going on or some noise outside our door. We try to keep the shop clean, but with all the dust from the road and the wind, it’s a constant job that never ends. We don't use a computer for the sales; I just write everything down in my old notebook and use a small calculator. It’s a basic way of doing things, but it has worked for us for decades without any trouble. We know most of the families around here and what they usually need for their homes. If we don't have something, we try to get it.
