Dilip Sawant

Andheri West is one of those places in Mumbai that never sleeps, and our little spot at 323 is right in the middle of that energy. My name is Dilip Sawant, and I have been operating out of this address for a long time. The building is one of those older structures that has survived the new construction going on all around it. Finding 323 can be a bit tricky if you don't know the landmarks, but once you find the small tea stall on the corner, you are almost there. The office is small and the walls are covered with calendars and notes we’ve pinned up over the months. It’s often quite loud because of the traffic and the people on the street, but that is just Mumbai for you. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of strong fans that keep the air moving. Most of the people who come to see us are from the neighborhood or work nearby. We don't do much in the way of formal meetings, things just happen over a cup of chai or a quick conversation at the desk. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once, but we make it work. It’s a practical place for practical work, and we’ve never seen the need to change how we do things.
