Dhandapaniramasamy

Running things under the name Dhandapaniramasamy from Borivali East is quite an experience because Mumbai never really stops moving. I am located at 102 in the Nilima Building, which is over in Odhav Nagar. It is part of the Shantivan area, so if you are familiar with this side of town, you know it is a pretty established neighborhood. The building is one of those typical Mumbai structures where everyone knows each other’s business a little bit. Being on the first floor is very handy because I do not have to wait for the lift most of the time. My day usually starts early because the heat in Maharashtra can get to you if you do not get a head start. The room is filled with papers and the usual stuff you would find in any small office where real work happens. I do not really have a big sign or anything flashy outside. Most people who come here already know where they are going. Odhav Nagar has its own rhythm, and I have become a part of it over the years. It is a lot of walking and talking and just keeping things moving. I do not try to make it sound like more than it is. It is just me in room 102, doing what I need to do to keep things going. There is always someone shouting down in the street or a car horn blowing, but that is just the background music to my workday here.
