Dhanalakshmi Industries

Dhanalakshmi Industries is located at A-25 in the H.M.T. Industrial Estate. It is a proper industrial area, so there is always a constant background noise of metal clanging and engines running. Our unit is not the biggest one on the block, but we certainly use every single inch of space we have available. We have some heavy machinery that takes up the majority of the floor, leaving just enough room for us to move around. It is a bit oily and noisy inside, but that is just the natural state of the work we do here. We usually start quite early in the morning before the sun gets too high and the building gets too hot. The staff has been working with us for a long time, so everyone knows exactly how the machines behave, even when they are being a bit difficult. We do not have a fancy office; just a small corner with a wooden desk and a telephone that has seen better days. Dealing with raw materials and various parts is what fills our time from morning until night. Sometimes a machine breaks down unexpectedly and we have to spend the entire afternoon trying to fix it with our own tools. It is very practical, hands-on work. We usually eat our lunch together in the shade outside when the weather allows. The industrial estate has its own specific rhythm. We just focus on getting our jobs finished.
