If you know where Dr. Rekha’s Clinic is in Chembur, then you can find us. We’re in Shop Number 48 at RC Barrack Number 4. It’s a small space but it’s packed with all sorts of imitation jewellery and small novelty items. We have earrings, necklaces, bangles—the kind of things girls and women look for to match their outfits for a wedding or a festival. It’s not real gold, obviously, but it looks nice enough. We also keep some small toys and gift items because kids often come in with their parents. The area is always buzzing with people walking by. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped inside when more than three people enter at once, but we manage. We spend a lot of time sorting through tiny packets of beads and clips. It’s a lot of small stuff to keep track of. People from around the barracks know us well. We aren't trying to be a big showroom or anything like that. Just a simple shop where you can find a pair of earrings or a quick gift. Most of our day is spent helping ladies find the right shade of stones or fixing a clasp on a chain. It’s honest work. We open up in the morning and stay until late evening. It’s just us doing what we’ve done for years in this little corner of Chembur. It can get hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fan going.
