Design Research Innovation Lab

If you are looking for us, we are up in E 207 on Ng Acharya Marg. Kandivali East is a busy place, so getting here can be a bit of a squeeze during rush hour. We call ourselves Design Research Innovation Lab, but mostly we are just a group of people trying to figure out how things work. There are a lot of books and prototypes lying around on the benches. It gets a bit crowded when everyone is in at the same time. The light in the afternoon hits the windows just right, though it makes the screens hard to see for a bit. We spend a lot of time testing stuff. Most of it doesn't work the first time, which is fine because that is just part of the process. I’ve been working out of this space for a couple of years now and it feels like home. We have a small kettle in the corner for coffee. It’s not a sterile laboratory like you see in movies. There are wires and sketches everywhere. We usually eat lunch together at one of the small places downstairs. People in the building know us as the ones who stay late. We don't really have a big reception area or anything. You just walk in and see us working. It’s a simple setup but it works for what we do on Ng Acharya Marg. It’s a lot of trial and error here but we enjoy the challenge of figuring things out.
