Deepali Graphics

Deepali Graphics is situated in Gala No. 9, inside the Chunilal Mehta Compound. It’s a bit hard to find if you don't know the area, especially being near the Retiwala Industrial part of Byculla. I usually tell people to look for the big blue gate and then head toward the back. The space isn't very big, so we have to be smart about where we put the computers and the printers. It’s usually me and one other person working here. We do a lot of layout work and basic graphic stuff. The lights are always humming, and it gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons because the ventilation isn't great in this old compound. I’ve been working in Byculla for about ten years now. I like the people around here; it feels like everyone is trying to make something. We get all kinds of customers—some who know exactly what they want and others who are completely lost. I spend a lot of time staring at a screen, which probably isn't great for my eyes, but I enjoy the process of making things look right. When the machines are running, it’s hard to hear the phone, so I often miss calls and have to call people back later. It’s just how it is when you’re a small operation. We don’t have a receptionist or anything. If I’m busy with a file, the door stays shut for a bit. It’s a simple setup, but it works for us.
