Deepa M Tharkar

My name is Deepa M Tharkar and I run this shop over at Shop No 44 in the Dattatray Society. We are located on Shastri Road in Kandivali East. It is a typical local spot where neighbors stop by throughout the day. I’ve been in this space for a long time, and the shop has become a bit of a fixture in the community. It is not a big department store, just a small, cozy place. The shelves are filled with the things people usually need in a hurry. I spend most of my time behind the counter, chatting with the regulars and keeping things organized. Shastri Road can get quite congested with traffic, but once you step inside, it is a bit more relaxed. I do all the cleaning and stocking myself, so things might not always be perfectly lined up, but I know where everything is. Some days are slow, especially in the heat of the afternoon when everyone is staying indoors. Then it picks up again in the evening. I don't have any employees or a big management team. It’s just me running the show. I try to keep the prices fair because I know everyone in the building. It is a simple life and a simple business. People come in for a quick chat as much as they do for the stuff I sell. It’s just how things are in Kandivali East.
