Das Patel Land

We’ve been sitting here at Jaihind Cottage on Shahaji Raje Marg for a long time now. Vile Parle East is where we call home and where we do all our work. Most days involve looking at papers and talking to folks about land stuff. It gets pretty busy around here, especially with the traffic outside our door in Mumbai. I remember when we first moved into this spot, it felt a bit small, but we made it work. My desk is usually covered in maps and folders that haven't been filed away yet. We aren't a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just us, some old chairs, and a ceiling fan that makes a bit too much noise in the afternoons. People stop by to ask about plots or just to say hello while they’re out doing their errands. We know the neighbors pretty well. Sometimes we go out to look at sites and come back dusty. It’s honest work. My family has been in this area for years, so we know the corners of Vile Parle better than most. If you walk past the Jaihind Cottage, you’ll probably see me through the window on the phone. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how things work around here. It’s not always easy dealing with all the rules and paperwork, but we get through it. That’s just how it goes at Das Patel Land.
