Darshan Toys

Darshan Toys is located at Shivaji Nagar in Vakola. We are in the B.K. Chabra Industrial Estate, which is a pretty crowded spot in Santacruz. Every morning we open up the unit and start getting the parts ready. Making toys involves a lot of small pieces and assembly work. You can usually find a few of us sitting around a table putting things together or checking the packaging. The estate is always buzzing with activity from the other workshops around us. We have boxes piled up almost to the ceiling sometimes. It gets a bit dusty with all the cardboard and material moving around. The commute here is never easy because Santacruz is always packed, but we manage. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment; it’s mostly manual work and simple machinery. We take our breaks together and usually send someone out to get snacks from the local stall. It’s not a quiet place, but the atmosphere is friendly enough. We spend a lot of time making sure everything is packed correctly so nothing breaks. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to move the stock out, but we just wait for it to clear. We are just a local toy maker trying to keep up with the daily orders. There isn’t much more to it than that. We just do our jobs and head home when the shutters go down.
