Dainik Agradoot

Our spot is in the Amitwar Building, specifically Plot No 441 2 on Lower Parel Chamundi Nagar Main Road. Lower Parel is a very busy part of Mumbai, and it feels like the city never stops outside our doors. Dainik Agradoot is a newspaper, so the pace inside is just as fast as the street outside. We have our desks crammed into the space we have. There are piles of paper everywhere and the phones are usually ringing. It’s a bit of a maze once you get inside. We have reporters coming in and out with notes and photographers dropping off their stuff. The building is an older one, so the elevators are a bit slow and the hallways are narrow. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. We just have a place to work. Being on the main road means it’s always loud, but you get used to it after a week or two. We eat our lunch at our desks most days because there is always something that needs to be finished. The ink smell is quite strong in the mornings when the first prints are moved. We aren't trying to be a corporate giant; we are just a group of people putting a paper together in the heart of Mumbai. It’s messy and loud, but it’s our daily life. The bundles go out before dawn and we start all over again.
