D. T. Ranawat & Bros.

D. T. Ranawat & Bros. has been operating out of 276 Shahid Bhagat Singh Road for a long time. We are right near the G.P.O. and situated just above Hotel Oasis in the Fort area. It’s an old building, so the walls are thick and the ceilings are high, which is nice when it gets hot outside. The neighborhood is always buzzing with people and traffic. Finding the entrance can be a little tricky because of all the street vendors parked out front. Once you get upstairs, it’s a bit quieter, though you can still hear the buses honking below. We spend most of our time dealing with paperwork and taking phone calls. It’s a family-run kind of setup, so things are pretty informal around here. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Whoever is closest to the door usually just answers it. There’s a lot of history in this part of town, and we’ve seen shops come and go over the years. We just keep doing what we do. The office is filled with old files and furniture that has seen better days, but it’s home for us. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the work. It’s just how we operate. Nothing too complicated about it. We’re usually here from morning until the sun goes down. Sometimes we stay late if there is a lot of filing to finish. It's just a regular office day.
