Cosmos Jewels

Cosmos Jewels is tucked away in the Sarvodaya Industrial Estate, at unit 49-1 on Mahakali Caves Road. It’s in Andheri(East), which is a very busy and noisy part of town. The estate is full of other small workshops and businesses, so there’s always a lot of activity. Our space is more of a factory than a showroom. It’s filled with machines for jewelry making and benches where the workers sit. The lighting is very bright so everyone can see the small details of what they are doing. It’s often quite hot inside because of the machinery, so we have several big fans running all day long. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls. It’s a very functional place meant for production. We’ve been here for quite some time and have gotten to know the other people in the building. There’s a small canteen downstairs where we go for tea and snacks in the afternoons. We don’t do any retail selling here, so we don't get many random visitors. Most of our work is for other businesses that need things made for them. It’s a lot of hard work and the hours can be long when we have a big deadline to meet. We just keep our heads down and focus on the pieces in front of us. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s honest work and we’re used to the industrial atmosphere and the constant hum of machines.
