Our office is tucked away in Navjeevan Nagar, right near Hariyali Village in Vikhroli East. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, especially when it’s raining heavily like it does here in Mumbai. We are located at number 19/2. The building is older, but it’s sturdy and keeps the sun out during those hot afternoons. Inside, we have rows of computers and a small pantry where we keep the kettle. We do back-office support and handle customer queries. It isn’t glamorous work, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. Most of the people working here live in the surrounding suburbs like Ghatkopar or Mulund. We don't have a big HR department or a gym. Instead, we have a small corner with a few chairs where we eat lunch together. Someone usually brings home-cooked food and we share what’s in the tiffins. It gets loud sometimes because the acoustics aren't the best, but we don't mind. We've been operating out of this Vikhroli space for a bit now. Sometimes the internet acts up when there’s maintenance on the lines, and we all just take a collective break. It feels more like a small family business than a big outsourcing firm. We focus on getting the tasks finished by the end of the shift. If a client calls with a problem, we just talk to them like normal people and try to fix it.
