The building itself has that old Mumbai feel, with narrow hallways and a lot of character. We are on the ground floor mostly, so we hear all the trucks and bikes zooming past on the Marg all day long. Inside, it is a bit of a maze of desks and stacked up boxes. We have been here for a good while, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the hardware to worry about that. It gets quite humid in the monsoon season, and we have to keep the plastic covers on everything to keep the dampness out. People drop in throughout the day, often looking a bit tired from the Mumbai heat. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that, just a counter where we take in the work. The staff drinks a lot of cutting chai from the stall just down the street while we troubleshoot server issues or fix broken keyboards. It is a practical, hardworking environment where the main goal is just finishing the jobs on the desk. Byculla is a tough place to work sometimes, but it’s where we belong.
