City Light Mobile Service Centre

Our shop is over in Mahim West, specifically in the Bhiku Niwas building. If you are walking down L J Road, you will see us right opposite the Shoba Hotel. That hotel is always busy so it’s a good way to tell people where we are. L J Road is one of those places in Mumbai that never seems to stop. There is always the sound of horns and people talking. We spend our days at the back of the shop with small tools and phone parts everywhere. It’s a messy job but we like it. The air in Mahim always feels a bit salty because we are close to the sea. Sometimes the smell of food from Shoba Hotel drifts over and makes us hungry. The shop is small and filled with old phone screens and batteries that we haven't thrown away yet. We just sit at the workbench and fix whatever comes through the door. It’s not a corporate office, just a workspace with a counter and some stools. Most people just drop their phones off and come back later after they’ve had lunch across the street. We’ve been here long enough that the local regulars know us by name. It’s a simple service center. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything. Just us working on mobiles in the middle of Mahim. The lights stay on until late evening because there is always one more phone to finish. It’s a busy life.
