Choudhary Traders

We are located in Chembur East, at number 7. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with crates and boxes. There isn't much room to walk around once a shipment arrives. We handle all sorts of goods, whatever is in demand locally. The location is convenient because it’s easy for the delivery vans to pull up, though parking is always a headache in this part of Mumbai. It’s mostly just the family running things. One of us handles the books while the others move the stock. We’ve been here for a long time, so we know most of the people on this street. The shop doesn't have a big sign, just a small board. We keep it simple. If you need something, you just ask and we see if it’s in the back. Sometimes the inventory is a mess, but we know where everything is. The phone rings a lot with people asking for prices. We don’t have a website or anything like that. It’s all face-to-face or over the phone. In the afternoons, things slow down a bit and we sit outside on the stools. It gets humid here, so the fan is always on. We don't try to be bigger than we are. Just a regular trading business helping out other shops and residents nearby. We stay open until the sun goes down, sometimes a bit later if a customer is coming from far away.
