Chandrashekar Iyer

I have been staying at Dheeraj Upahar in Malad East for a long time now. My place is on the fourth floor, unit E-413. If you know Mumbai at all, you know how busy it gets around A K Vaidya Marg. We are situated right behind the Dindoshi Depot, which is helpful because I can just tell people to look for the buses. It is a typical Mumbai apartment life where space is tight but you make it work. I handle my business right from here. It is not a massive corporate setup with a reception desk. It is just me at my desk surrounded by books and files. The sounds of the city are always there in the background, from the bus engines to the general hum of the traffic. I usually work through the day and take my breaks when the sun gets too hot. It is a practical way to live and work in the city. You get used to the fast pace and the constant movement of people around the building. My neighbors are good people and we all look out for each other in this block. I do not see the need for a big flashy office when I have everything I need right here. It is a simple existence but it keeps me grounded. I have lived in different parts of the city but Malad feels like home. Being near the depot makes everything accessible, which is a big plus in a place like this.
