Brihan Mumbai Mahanagar Palika

We work out of Room 45 on the first floor of the Prabhat Building. It’s on Rbchandorkar Marg in Agripada, which is quite close to the Mumbai Central Station. If you’ve ever walked that way, you know how busy it gets with everyone rushing to catch their trains. Brihan Mumbai Mahanagar Palika is a big name, but our little corner of it feels much smaller. The building is old and has that specific smell of old paper and city dust. We spend our days dealing with various bits of paperwork and people coming in with questions. It’s not the most glamorous job, but it’s ours. The stairs are a bit steep and the ceiling fans make a lot of noise, but we don't really notice it anymore. We are just part of the machinery of the city. We don't have a polished story because we are just the staff you see when you walk in. We drink our tea, handle the files, and try to keep things moving as much as we can. Mumbai is a fast city, and Agripada is right in the thick of it. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult, or the crowds get too thick, but we just stay at our desks and finish the day's work. It’s simple, honest work that needs to be done for the city to keep functioning properly. We take things one file at a time.
