If you find yourself down in Dagina Bazar, you’ll likely pass by Gulab Shah Estate on Mumbadevi Road. That’s where we are, specifically at Gala 388. Kurla West is always a bit chaotic, with trucks and rickshaws fighting for space on the narrow roads, especially near the estate. It’s a working area, so there’s always the sound of machines or people shouting to be heard over the noise. We spend most of our time inside the gala, dealing with whatever needs to be sorted for the day. Bmk Corporation has been part of this estate for a while now. The walls are a bit dusty and the floor is concrete, but it’s a practical space for what we do. We don't have a fancy showroom or a big glass front; it’s more about the work that happens behind the scenes. Usually, the day starts early before the sun gets too high and the heat in the gala becomes too much. We drink a lot of water and try to stay on top of the orders that come through. It’s a straightforward life here in Dagina Bazar. We know the other folks in the nearby galas, and we all pretty much do the same thing—work hard, stay out of the rain when the monsoon hits, and try to get home before the traffic gets completely stuck. It’s just a regular part of the Kurla industrial landscape. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep things moving along.
