Blossom English School

Blossom English School is located over at Plot No 16/P/01 on Road No 10 in Govandi. It is right in the middle of a very busy part of Mumbai. If you walk down the road, you will hear the sounds of children reciting their lessons through the windows. The building is not very big, but we make use of every corner we have. We started this school because the neighborhood needed a place where local kids could go for English medium classes. Every morning, parents from around Govandi drop their kids off before heading to work. The classrooms have wooden benches that have seen better days, and the walls are covered with charts and drawings made by the students. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy during the break time when everyone is out in the corridor. We have teachers who live nearby, so they know the families well. It feels more like a community spot than a big institution. There is no big playground, but the kids find ways to play in the spaces we have. When it rains in Mumbai, the road outside gets muddy, but the school stays dry and busy. We keep our records in old steel cupboards in the small office near the front door. It is just a regular school trying to help the children in this part of Mumbai get through their books. We do not have fancy uniforms or big buses, just a simple place for learning.
