The classroom is in Room No 15 on the first floor of Shreeji Bhuvan. If you are in South Mumbai, you know how these old buildings in Chira Bazar are. It is on Gazdar Street, right in the middle of all the shops selling hardware and clothes. Being near Marine Lines Station is helpful for the students who come from further away on the train. The building has that old Mumbai smell of spice and old stone. Inside the room, we have a few long tables and some wooden chairs that have been around for years. It is a small space, so when we have a full group, it gets quite cozy. The windows look out onto the street, and you can hear the horns and the people shouting all day long. We teach French here, mostly just going through grammar books and practicing speaking. It is nothing fancy, just a room where people come to learn a language. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound when it is on the highest setting. But it is a good spot for focusing on the work. People usually find us by word of mouth since we are tucked away on the first floor. It is a very normal, local setup for this part of Kalbadevi. The stairs can be a bit steep, so you have to watch your step when you come up to visit.
