If you head over to the Mahalaxmi Race Course, you’ll find us tucked away near the 2nd enclosure. Being so close to Mahalaxmi Station means we get a lot of noise from the trains passing by, but we don't really mind it much anymore. Bjr S Gallops Restaurant is right in the thick of it. The smell of the grass and the horses is something you just get used to when you work here in Mahalaxmi West. Our days start pretty early, getting the kitchen ready and making sure everything is wiped down before the first people start showing up. It’s a unique spot because of the open space around us, which you don't get much of in Mumbai. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the tables and the back area. It’s not like those quiet offices; it’s always got some kind of sound, whether it’s plates clattering or people talking over their lunch. We’ve been at this address for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The staff here mostly lives nearby or takes the local train to get in. We don't put on airs or try to be something we aren't. It’s just a place to eat and spend time near the track. When the sun starts to set over the race course, it actually looks pretty nice, even with all the work we still have left to do before closing up for the night.
