We are based in Krishna Smurti Society, specifically in the A 1 4 block on J M Road in Konkan Nagar. If you know Bhandup West, you know how busy this part of Mumbai can get. There is always noise from the street, but once you step into the society, it gets a little bit calmer. Our office for Bharti Axa Life Insurance Co Ltd is on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to find us without wandering around. We have a few desks pushed together and shelves full of thick binders. The space is a bit tight because we have so many files to store, but we make it work. We spend our hours answering emails and talking to people who drop in with their documents. The fan hums in the background all day, and we usually have a window open to let in some air, even if it brings in the city sounds. It’s a very ordinary office with no fancy furniture or polished floors. We just focus on the tasks at hand. There is a small canteen nearby where we sometimes get vada pav for a quick snack in the afternoon. It’s a typical Mumbai workspace where everyone is always doing something. We keep our calendars marked with deadlines and try to keep the paperwork from piling up too high. It’s just our daily routine here in Konkan Nagar, and we’re quite used to the pace of things. The security guard at the gate is a nice man who waves when we arrive.
