Bhabha Atomic Research Centre

We are based out of C 28 in the Nalanda BARC Quarters. It's right in Anushakthi Nagar, Mumbai. Living and working here is just part of the routine for us. The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre has a lot going on, but our little spot is just one piece of it. It’s a busy colony with lots of people coming and going. You see the same faces every day at the gates and in the corridors. We don't really have a big reception or anything like that. It’s more of a functional space. We’ve got our desks and our equipment, and we just get on with things. Mumbai is always moving fast, but inside the quarters, it feels a bit more settled. We don’t spend much time worrying about how things look. As long as the work gets done correctly, that’s what matters to us. Most of the people around here are doing similar things, so we all understand each other. It’s a very straightforward way to live and work. We don't have much to say about ourselves other than we're here every day, putting in the hours. It’s just the way life goes in this part of the city. No frills, just the daily grind in Anushakthi Nagar. We keep the files in order and the tea hot, and that’s about as much as we need to get through the week.
