We are up on the 6th floor at 203-A Kalbadevi Road. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets down on the street with the handcarts and people. Taking the lift up is always an adventure because it's an old building and sometimes it has a mind of its own. We’ve been operating from here for quite some time now. Our office is filled with files and old wooden desks. We do a lot of enterprise work, mostly paperwork and coordinating things over the phone. Being on the 6th floor means we are away from the street noise, which is nice for focusing. We have a small kettle for making coffee when the afternoons get long and we need a break. It’s not a polished place. There are stacks of papers on almost every surface. We know where everything is, even if it looks messy to someone else. Most of us have been working together for years. We aren't a huge team. We just handle the business as it comes. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish up the billing for the month. The view from the window is just other rooftops and a bit of the gray sky. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and go home. It’s practical work. We use old staplers that jam sometimes, but we keep using them anyway. It's just how we do things here in Kalbadevi.
