Our place is on the 5th floor of the Alandi Apartments in Parel Village. Parel is always crowded, so getting to the office through Nanabhai Parelkar Road can be a bit of a squeeze. We are right in the middle of Mumbai-400012, where everything is moving fast. The building is older, and the lift is a bit slow sometimes, so we often just take the stairs. Inside, it’s all about research. We have our lab equipment and computers set up in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks cluttered to someone else. It’s a lot of waiting for results and writing down observations. We aren't a big flashy company with a glass front. We are just a team of people working in a few rooms. You can hear the trains and the traffic from outside all day long. Lunch is usually something quick from one of the stalls downstairs. We spend hours looking at samples or data, and sometimes we don't say much to each other when we are focused. It’s not a fancy environment, just a functional one. We’ve got books and journals piled up in the corners. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just come in, do the research, and try to make sense of the findings. It’s a bit cramped and busy, but that’s just how Parel is. We just keep working until the day is over.
