Baradwa Furniture

If you head down Pipeline Road 11 in Borivali East, you’ll find our workshop. Baradwa Furniture has been sitting here in Msr Nagar for quite some time. The place usually smells like fresh cut wood and varnish. We spend most of our days working with our hands, putting together cupboards, beds, or whatever else someone from the neighborhood needs. It’s a bit dusty, and the floor is usually covered in wood shavings, but that’s just how a real furniture shop looks. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of our pieces are just sitting there waiting to be picked up or finished. We talk to the neighbors, take orders on bits of paper, and try to get the measurements right the first time. Sometimes the wood doesn't cooperate, or a delivery is late because of the traffic in Mumbai, but we get through it. People know us here because we’ve been part of the street for a long time. It’s not corporate; it’s just us making things that people actually use in their homes. We use local materials when we can. If you need a sturdy table that won't wobble, we’re the ones to see. We just like making stuff that lasts longer than the cheap plastic things you see everywhere else these days. There is always a lot to do, but we enjoy the process of building something from scratch.
