Our little shop is Room No. 27 on Kolse Wali Gali. It’s tucked away in the Nagar area of Bandra East. It’s a small space, so we have to be very careful about where we put everything. We do printing work, so there’s always the smell of ink and the sound of the machines clicking away. Sometimes the paper jams and we have to spend an hour fixing it, which is frustrating but just part of the job. Being in Bandra East, there are always people walking by the alley. It’s a tight squeeze in here if more than two people come in at once. We have samples of our prints pinned to the walls, some of them a bit faded now. The lighting isn't great, but we have a few desk lamps that help us see the fine details. We handle a lot of small orders for people in the neighborhood. Business cards, wedding invites, that kind of thing. It’s a bit cluttered with boxes of envelopes and different paper stocks. We’ve been in this room for quite a while. Most days are spent sitting on the stool near the printer, waiting for the jobs to finish. We don't have a website or anything like that; people usually just find us by walking down the Gali. It’s a quiet life in a busy city. We just keep the ink flowing and the paper moving through the rollers as best as we can every single day. It keeps us going.
