Avk Ford Workshop

Avk Ford Workshop is located deep inside the Goawala Compound on Lbs Marg. If you know Kurla West, you know how busy that main road gets with all the buses and rickshaws. We are right across from the Sahara Hotel, tucked back near Sevagram Society and Usmanpura. The workshop is usually a bit greasy and loud. We spend our days under hoods and looking at engines. It gets pretty hot in the compound during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the work. There is always a row of cars waiting for parts or a quick check-up. We aren't the type of place with a shiny glass floor. It’s a working garage where tools are scattered around and the floors are stained with oil. Most of the guys here have been working on cars for years, so we know the sounds a Ford makes when something is loose. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for a specific part to arrive, and the car just sits there in the lot. It is a lot of physical work, lifting heavy things and getting dirt under your fingernails. We just stay focused on the vehicles and try to keep things organized despite the constant movement in the compound. It’s a basic, honest shop where we just fix what is broken and send the cars back out onto Lbs Marg.
