Attar Al-Amin

We've been at Room 16 for a while now. It's on the first floor of Rizwan Dadani Manzil. You have to walk up the stairs on Kambekar Street to find us. It's a small space but it fits everything we need for the attar work. Most days it smells quite strong in here because of the oils. We don't have a big fancy office. It’s just us working and keeping things moving. People come by when they need a specific scent. Sometimes the street outside is so loud we can hardly hear each other, but that's just how it is around here. We try to keep things organized but with all the bottles and supplies, it gets a bit crowded. My cousin helps out when things get busy. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. Just the work. It’s quiet in the room compared to the market outside. We usually have tea around four. If the door is open, someone is inside. We’ve known the neighbors for years. It's a tight squeeze if three people visit at once. We handle the orders as they come in. Nothing fancy, just the daily routine of filling bottles and checking the stock. Some days are slow, others we are running around. We like it here though. It feels right being in the middle of everything on Kambekar Street. The light isn't great in the hallway, but our room gets some sun in the morning. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing every single day.
