Atik Bhai Garage

Atik Bhai Garage is located in the Kandar Pada area of Ganpat Patil Naga in Borivali West. You will find us right opposite the Veda building, which is a fairly new landmark around here. The garage is a busy place, usually with three or four vehicles squeezed into the small space and out onto the front. There is always the sound of a wrench hitting the floor or an engine being tested. It’s a gritty environment, with oil stains on the ground and various car parts piled up in the corners. Atik is almost always here, usually wearing a shirt that’s seen better days and covered in some kind of engine fluid. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. Most people just hang out by the entrance or go grab a tea nearby while we work on their cars. The dust from the road is a constant thing in Ganpat Patil Naga, so everything has a bit of a layer on it. We’ve been fixing cars and bikes here for years, and we know most of the people who live in the surrounding buildings. It’s a simple, hardworking life. We don’t use any big fancy machines, just the tools we’ve had for ages and our own hands. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we just keep at it until the jobs are done for the day. Sometimes we stay late when there is a difficult engine to fix, but that is just part of the routine here.
