Asian Street Kitchen

Being located at Girgaon Chowpatty means we deal with a lot of humidity and salt in the air. Asian Street Kitchen is in the Dev Prakash Building on Chowpatty Road, right near the Yes Bank. It is a busy street, especially in the evenings when everyone wants to be near the water. We keep the kitchen running with a small team. It’s not a large place, so things get a bit cramped when it's busy. We do street food but in our own way. People walk in with their families after spending time on the beach. You can hear the traffic and the waves if you listen closely. We don't have any polished speeches or corporate goals. We just want to make sure the food is hot and the customers are satisfied. The tiles on the floor are a bit worn down from all the feet walking through. We spend a lot of time chopping vegetables and prepping for the dinner rush. Sometimes the rain in Mumbai makes everything difficult, and we have to scramble to keep the entrance dry. It’s just a local kitchen trying to stay open and keep things moving. There is no mystery to it. We just show up, cook, and clean up at the end of the night like everyone else. Sometimes the gas cylinders arrive late, and we just have to make do until they get here.
