Asian Motor Driving School

Our little spot is located at Shop No 10 in the Prabhat Industrial Estate, right there in Tardeo. It’s a BMC shop, so it’s got that sturdy, old-school Mumbai feel to it. Asian Motor Driving School has been around this area for years. If you’ve spent any time in Tardeo, you’ve probably seen our cars zig-zagging through the narrow lanes. Driving in this part of town is a real skill, and that’s what we try to pass on. The shop itself is pretty cramped because we have a lot of files and gear piled up. We aren't fancy people. We wear comfortable clothes because we’re in and out of cars all day in the humidity. Most of our students are locals who live nearby and want to finally get their licenses. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It’s just us, the cars, and the road. Sometimes the traffic is so bad we barely move, but that’s part of the lesson too. Learning to stay calm is half the battle. We’ve seen all kinds of drivers come through these doors. Some learn fast, others take their time. We just stay patient and keep at it. Between lessons, we sit in the shop, have a tea, and talk about the day. It’s a noisy, busy place to work, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Tardeo has its own energy and we feel like a real part of it.
