Ashish Traders

Our place is on the ground floor, number 78, right across from the Madras Bhavan Hotel here in Marine Lines. It’s a convenient spot for us because it’s easy for people to find if they know where the hotel is. Ashish Traders is mostly about moving goods in and out of the area. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking through long lists of inventory. The office is a bit small and usually has boxes piled up in the corners waiting to be moved. Marine Lines is always loud with traffic and the sounds of the city, so we usually keep the front door closed just to hear ourselves talk. It’s been our base for a long time. We handle all sorts of trade stuff, mostly depending on what’s coming in that week or what’s in demand. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. It’s just a practical workspace where we get the day's tasks done. Some mornings start off very slow, then suddenly three deliveries show up at once and it’s a bit of a mess for a few hours while we unload. We just deal with the chaos as it comes. Usually, it’s just the two of us here plus a helper to move the heavier items around. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some shops closed down, others opened up. But we’re still here at the same ground floor spot. If you’re coming by, just look for the sign.
