Anil V Vartak operates out of Mahim, specifically at H/128 on T J Road. This part of Mahim has a very specific feel to it, and we’ve been part of the landscape here for quite some time. The office is at H/128, which isn't the easiest place to spot if you’re just driving by quickly. It’s a modest setup, nothing like those glass towers you see in the newer parts of Mumbai. We have some old wooden furniture and shelves piled high with books and papers. T J Road is always busy, so there’s a constant hum of traffic outside our door. It’s just a one-man show mostly, or with a couple of helpers depending on the week. We don't have any big slogans or flashy advertisements. People usually find out about us by word of mouth or by just walking past the building. Our day is mostly spent reading, writing, and talking to people who stop in for a chat or to discuss business. It’s a quiet life in a loud city. We make our own tea and keep our own schedule. There isn't any corporate ladder to climb here. It’s just about being consistent and showing up at the office on T J Road every morning. We’ve seen many things come and go in Mahim, but H/128 stays pretty much the same. It’s just a practical place to work, with a fan that clicks and a view of the street.
