Amit Fastners

Amit Fastners is located on N M Joshi Marg, right at the 27th Cross in the 7th Block. We are pretty easy to find if you look for the Mata Ka Mandir nearby. You can often hear the temple bells in the morning and evening, which is a nice break from the sound of the traffic on the main road. Our shop is full of boxes and bins filled with all kinds of fasteners, bolts, and metal pieces. It’s a heavy place, and the shelves are definitely strained under all that weight. We spend most of the day digging through these bins to find exactly what someone is looking for. The floor is concrete and usually has a few stray washers rolling around. It’s a bit dark inside, but we have a few bright bulbs hanging from the ceiling so we can see what we’re doing. The neighborhood is a mix of old houses and small workshops like ours. We know most of the people who walk past every day. It’s not a glamorous job, dealing with hardware and metal all day, but it’s what we do. We sit on small stools behind the counter and wait for the next person to come in with a sample of a screw they need to match. It’s simple work in a busy part of the city, and we just keep at it from morning until we pull the shutters down for the night.
