Ambika Gift Collections

Our shop, Ambika Gift Collections, is at Shop No 1 in Paras Arcade, which is in the Sopar area near Charni Road. We are very close to Hinduja College, so we get a lot of students walking past our door every day. Charni Road is one of those places that always feels packed, especially with the station nearby. Paras Arcade is an older building, and our shop is right at the front. We have all sorts of gift collections squeezed into the space. It is a bit narrow inside, so when two or three people come in, it feels full. We've been here for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The noise from the street is something you just stop noticing after a while. We spend a lot of our morning dusting the items because the city air is never clean. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait to see who comes in. Sometimes the college kids come in looking for something cheap and nice, and other times it's people on their way home from work. We like being in this part of town despite the crowds. It’s a small, honest shop. We don’t use fancy computers for everything; we still write a lot of things down by hand. It is just the way we like to run things here.
