We are based in the old Bombay Talkies Compound, at 225/C on Dadasheth Marg in Malad. This place has a lot of history since it used to be a famous movie studio a long time ago. Now, it is full of different businesses like ours. You can still see some of the old structures if you walk around the compound. Our space is functional and mostly used for storing and trading. There are always boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We have to use ladders to get to the stuff at the top. It’s a bit of a maze inside. The air is often still, so we have big pedestal fans blowing all the time. Dadasheth Marg is a busy road and there is always some noise from the traffic outside the compound gates. We have a few people working in the office part, mostly typing on computers and filing away invoices. It’s not a polished environment. The walls have some stains and the windows are a bit dusty from the construction nearby. We get our work done and don’t worry too much about the aesthetics. Most of our day is spent talking to transporters and checking on the plasto trade orders. It’s a steady life in a place that has seen a lot of changes over the decades. We like being part of the history of this old compound while we do our daily business here.
