Nav Vivek Estate is where we’ve set up shop, specifically at 106 on Mogul Lane in Mahim. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze getting down the lane sometimes, especially if a delivery truck is parked there. The estate has that old-school Mumbai commercial feel to it. Our space is on the ground floor, which makes it easier for moving things in and out, but we don’t have much of a view. It’s mostly just shelves and stacks of items we’re preparing. The walls are lined with boxes, and there’s a small desk near the door where we keep the ledger. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It’s just a place where we work. Usually, there’s a radio playing somewhere in the background, mixed with the sound of the ceiling fans. The neighbors are mostly other small businesses, so we all know each other’s schedules. We usually start the day with a quick cleaning of the front area before the orders start coming in. It gets quite humid in the afternoons, but we just keep the doors open and carry on. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. It’s simple and it works for us. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local shop in a busy part of town. Sometimes the roof leaks a tiny bit when the monsoon is heavy, but we’ve got buckets for that. We just deal with it.
