If you head up to Room No 402 in Building No 3, you’ll find us surrounded by a lot of old computer parts and tangled wires. We are located in Andheri West, tucked away behind the Noor Masjid. It is usually pretty quiet up here on the fourth floor, except for the sound of a cooling fan running on a laptop we are trying to fix. The room isn’t very large, so we have to be careful where we step so we don't trip over a power strip or a monitor base. There is always a faint smell of solder in the air and a bit of dust that settles on the workbenches no matter how much we clean. We spend our hours taking things apart and putting them back together, hoping there aren't any screws left over at the end. It is a lot of sitting under bright desk lamps and squinting at small circuit boards. Sometimes the walk up the stairs feels long after a full day of work. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. People usually just call us or drop off their machines and come back a few days later. It is just a practical workspace where we try to get things running again. The view from the window shows the rooftops of the neighborhood, and you can hear the call to prayer from the masjid nearby, which marks the time for us throughout the day.
