Our office is located in Kurla West, specifically in the Shaan Apartment building on Pipe Road. We are in Wing A, Flat 404. It’s right next to the Kurla Nursing Home, which is a good landmark because people always get lost trying to find the right turn. Mumbai is always loud and fast, and this area is no exception. You can hear the traffic and the people on the street all day long. Inside the flat, we’ve set up our desks where the living room used to be. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when the whole team is in, but it works for what we need. We handle management consulting stuff, which mostly means we are on our laptops for eight or nine hours a day. The building is older, so it has that lived-in feel. Sometimes the monsoon rain hits the windows so hard we can barely hear each other talk. We usually go down to the local stalls for a vada pav or some chai when the afternoon slump hits. There’s no big sign outside, just our name on the door. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a boardroom, just some plastic chairs and a big wooden table. It’s honest work in a busy neighborhood, and we like being part of the local community here in Mumbai.
