Academy Of Japanese Language Culture

Our place is in Andheri East, right in the middle of all the Mumbai madness. We are in Flat No 401 of Building E Gata. It is a bit of a trek to get here sometimes because the traffic in Andheri is just something else, as anyone who lives here will tell you. The Academy Of Japanese Language Culture is basically just a couple of rooms where we have our books and some mats on the floor. It feels a bit like a mix between a Mumbai apartment and a small school. We have been in Building E Gata for a while, and the neighbors are used to seeing us by now. Being in Flat No 401 means we are high enough to escape some of the street dust, but the noise of the city still reaches us. We spend our days talking about Japanese traditions and trying to get the grammar right, which isn't always easy. The walls are a bit thin, so we can sometimes hear the televisions from the other flats. It’s not a fancy corporate center; it is just a lived-in space where we share what we know about Japan. We have a small kettle for tea and some old wooden desks that have seen better days. If you are looking for us, you just have to find the right gate in the Gata area and head up to the fourth floor. It is a simple life we have here, just teaching and learning in the heart of Andheri.
