Our office is located in the Asian Building over on R Kamani Marg. If you’ve ever walked around Ballard Estate, you know the buildings have that old, heavy feel to them. Number 17 is no different. It’s a solid place with high ceilings and those big windows that let in some light, though it can get a bit dim in the corners. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the rest of the city, which helps us focus on what we’re doing. We spend our days at our desks, mostly going through reports and making sure everything is in order. The elevator is one of those older types that takes its time, so some of us just use the stairs. We’ve got a small area for files and a communal table where we sometimes sit to talk about the week’s tasks. There’s a lot of history in these walls, and you can almost feel it. We aren't really into the modern, open-plan office look. We like our space just the way it is. Sometimes the pigeons make a bit of a mess on the ledge outside, but that’s just part of being in this area. We usually go for a walk during lunch to stretch our legs and get some air. It’s a professional enough environment, but it feels lived-in. We’ve been here a while and know the local street vendors by name. The place just has a steady, quiet energy that suits our daily routine.
