Lab Nam

If you want to find Lab Nam, you have to head over to Grant Road and look for Abdealy Chambe. We are up on the 5th floor at 14 A. It’s one of those old Mumbai buildings where the elevator is small and sometimes makes a weird noise, so I usually just take the stairs if I’m not carrying too much. The space is a bit tight, as you’d expect in this part of the city. We have tables pushed against every wall to make room for the equipment. It’s a busy place with a lot of people coming in and out all day. Because we’re on the 5th floor, we get a bit of a breeze if we leave the windows open, but then the city noise comes in too. I’ve been working here for a while now, and I’ve gotten used to the organized chaos. We do various types of lab work, and there’s always a pile of paperwork waiting on my desk. I don't have a fancy office or a view, just a window that looks out at another building. We keep things simple. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. People find us because their friends told them we do the job right. It gets hot in the afternoons, and the tea guy comes around at four, which is the highlight of the day. It’s just a normal workplace where we get through the tasks one by one until it's time to go home.
