Aashish Dwyer

My name is Aashish Dwyer and I work out of my flat in Samudra Darshan Apartments. It is Flat No 1 in the 5th Block of K H B Colony in Andheri West. Living and working in Andheri means you are always in the middle of the Mumbai chaos. The colony is an old one, built by the housing board, so the buildings have that classic look. Being on the ground floor is nice because I don't have to wait for the lift, which is often broken anyway. Samudra Darshan is near the sea, so you can sometimes smell the salt in the air, though the buildings around us mostly block the view. I have set up a small corner of my home as my workspace. It is quite cluttered with papers, my computer, and empty coffee mugs. Andheri West is always noisy with rickshaws and people shouting, but you get used to it after a while. I don't have any employees or a big fancy reception. If someone wants to meet, they just come to the flat. It is a very casual way of doing business. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing cricket in the lane outside my window. It is just a regular life here in Mumbai. I have been in this flat for years and I don't see myself moving anytime soon.
