A To Z Novelties

A To Z Novelties is on S V Road. It is a very busy street, as anyone who lives around here knows. The name says A to Z, and sometimes I feel like we have exactly that many things crammed into this small space. It is mostly small stuff like hairpins, pens, notebooks, little plastic trinkets, and things for school kids. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, and I have to use a ladder to reach the top ones. It is a bit of a squeeze for more than three people to stand inside at once. I have been running this for a while now. The noise from S V Road is constant, you just get used to the horns and the people shouting outside. I open early because the school kids pass by and need things for their classes. My hands are usually dusty from moving old boxes around. It is a simple business. I buy stuff from the wholesalers and hope people buy it here. We do not have any fancy computers or anything; I just write everything down in a thick ledger book. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the door when it is heavy, so I have to be careful with the paper goods. It is just a normal shop in a normal neighborhood. Nothing special to look at from the outside, just a lot of useful stuff inside. I like talking to the regulars who have been coming here for years.
