A. K. Jewellers

If you know Bhuleshwar, you know how crowded it gets, especially around 3rd Bhoiwada. A. K. Jewellers is right there at number 92. We spend most of our days in this small space, surrounded by the constant noise of the market outside. It is a tight squeeze sometimes when a few people come in at once. We don’t have those big glass displays like the malls do. Everything is pretty basic here. We have our counters and the safes where we keep the stock. Dealing with jewellery in a place like this means you get to know your neighbors well. The tea seller comes by twice a day, and we usually have a quick chat while we work. Most of our time is spent looking at small details or talking to people about what they need for a wedding or a gift. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing, then getting up to pull out something specific from the back. The lighting isn't always perfect, but we make it work. We’ve been in this spot for years, so we’ve seen the street change quite a bit, even if our shop stays mostly the same. It’s just how things are in this part of town. You show up, open the shutters, and see who walks in. It’s a messy, busy, but honest way to spend the day. There is always someone shouting outside, but we just ignore it and focus on the gold.
