You can find A H Master & Co on the ground floor at 294 Kalbadevi. We are tucked away near Mangal Ds Market and right behind the Vibgyour School. This part of Kalbadevi is incredibly narrow and always packed with people. Our building is one of those old Mumbai structures that has been around forever. Inside, it’s a bit dark because the sun doesn’t always reach down into these lanes, so we keep the tube lights on all day. We deal with a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around. It’s a very practical environment. We don’t have much in the way of decoration; it’s mostly just functional furniture and a lot of stock. The school nearby means we hear the sounds of children playing and the teachers calling out, which makes the day go by a bit faster. We have been in this location for a long time, and our routine hasn't changed much over the years. We arrive, unlock the heavy doors, and start going through the orders we have for the day. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure things get to where they need to go. The market area is always a bit of a struggle to navigate with all the handcarts and delivery bikes, but we are used to it by now. We aren't trying to be anything other than a reliable business in a busy market. It’s hard work, but it’s what we’ve always done.
