Our spot is Shop A-2 on the ground floor of Ashermansion, which sits right on Vasantraonaik Marg near Gowalia Tank. If you know the area, you know it’s got that old Mumbai feel that you don't find much anymore. 7 Dutch Systems has been operating out of this shop for some time. It's not a huge place, just a ground-floor unit on Plot-40, but it fits what we need. Living and working around Gowalia Tank means there’s always something happening outside the door. We aren't trying to be some high-rise firm with a view. We like being on the ground level where we can see the street. The office is pretty simple inside with basic desks and some shelves. We spend our hours looking at screens and talking through projects. It’s a small team, so everyone knows what everyone else is doing. There’s no fancy reception area or anything like that. Just a door that opens up to the street and a bunch of us working on systems. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud, but we’re used to it by now. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay organized. It’s a decent place to work, and being in a building like Ashermansion gives it a bit of character that those new glass buildings just don't have. We’re just local people doing tech work in a familiar neighborhood without any unnecessary drama.
